Bwahit Pass
Bwahit Pass is one of the great high-altitude sections of longer Simien Mountains trekking routes.
The pass lies above 4,000 metres and forms part of the classic route connecting Chenek with the valleys leading towards Ambiko and Ras Dejen.
From the high Bwahit area, trekkers can enjoy extensive views across the eastern Simien Mountains and, in clear weather, towards the wider Ras Dejen massif.
The area is also important for acclimatization on longer summit expeditions.
Bwahit is best suited to fit hikers comfortable with steep ascent, altitude and long trekking days.
