Mekarebya
Mekarebiya is a trekking stop on the extended northern descent route through the Simien Mountains.
The journey towards Mekarebiya leaves the high Afro-alpine plateau behind and enters progressively warmer landscapes, allowing hikers to see another side of the wider Simien region.
The area is normally reached after trekking from Sona and forms part of longer routes continuing towards Mulit and Adi Arkay.
