Sanetti Plateau

The Sanetti Plateau is the spectacular high-altitude heart of Bale Mountains National Park and one of Ethiopia’s finest destinations for wildlife watching, hiking and photography.

Rising above 4,000 metres in several places, the plateau contains vast Afro-alpine moorlands, giant lobelias, mountain tarns and volcanic peaks. It is particularly famous as one of the best places in Ethiopia to search for the endangered Ethiopian wolf.

The Sanetti Plateau is commonly combined with Dinsho, Tulu Dimtu and Harenna Forest on Bale Mountains wildlife and trekking tours.
