Sankaber

Sankaber is one of the main starting points for trekking in Simien Mountains National Park.

Situated at approximately 3,250 metres, Sankaber provides dramatic views over the northern escarpment and excellent opportunities to encounter troops of endemic geladas.

Many classic Simien hiking routes begin here before continuing towards Jinbar Waterfall, Geech, Imet Gogo and Chenek.

Its combination of easy access, wildlife and spectacular scenery makes Sankaber suitable for both short Simien visits and longer trekking holidays.
